Strategy: To engage conference attendees in exploring the area, I created a game-like hidden gems map. Another goal of the hidden gems map was to add an element of color to the dull black and white program booklet. The map showed places around Lake Tahoe and the conference that was walking distance as well as car distance away. The locations included restaurants, pubs, jewelry/ clothing store etc. that the individuals can go to in the free time they had between events. I kept referencing back to the real map of Lake Tahoe to accurately portray the area in the design. The colors were very noticeable to ensure it would catch your attention as soon as you open the center of the booklet.
