DRESHER & DAVEL CASE STUDY

Client: MADT 434

Duration: 16 weeks

Objective: Create an animated poster for the Dresher + Davel band event.

Background: The project’s requirements were to take your own pictures, use given music or your own, and create the type for the title “Dresher + Davel”. This project broadens the knowledge of space and timing, as well as creating a new font and a unique background with your own pictures while matching with the other elements in this poster.

Research: There was not enough time to conduct my primary research like going to their concert, although my secondary research was listening to the band’s music on spotify for an hour or more to get their sense of style first. I also was looking for fonts while listening to their unique songs. The color scheme used in this poster, I wanted it to be  consistent with browns and tans in the images I took.

Strategy: While getting a clearer idea, I found a font that was thing and easy to change instead of create a whole new font. I printed the font out and redrew over the font with changes I was thinking of and then I made more changes once I put the design in Illustrator. I took the photos of these paper folding seats, at unique angles, in my classroom.

Solution: This project enhanced my knowledge in Adobe Indesign as well as making an animated poster. I am very pleased with the result of this poster.

Challenges: The main challenge was timing the animations so everything flows the way I planned. Figuring out the interactive functions of Adobe Indesign took up most of my time because I wasn’t used to using and changing those functions for this poster.

Programs: Adobe InDesign
